Robert Qualified as an Osteopath in 2000, however he was strongly influenced by his mother, Ann, a Chartered Physiotherapist and soon after graduation established Spine Plus’ first clinic in Chigwell with the vision of offering expert treatment for a range of musculoskeletal disorders that incorporated the key benefits of both professions. Early into his career Robert realised traditional physiotherapy and osteopathy did relatively little for patients with sciatica and related disorders due to bulging or degenerative discs in the Spine. After initial successes with offering mechanical traction at the Chigwell clinic, Robert wanted to do even more for these patients and became one of the first clinicians in the UK to offer an advanced form of computerised traction called IDD Therapy (IDD Therapy is currently one of the most successful and fastest growing forms of therapy for patients with degenerative discs in the spine and is currently available at three of our clinics). With additional qualifications in medical acupuncture, electrotherapy and clinical Pilates (the latter with the renowned Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute), Robert is part of the driving force behind our multidisciplinary approach.
Juan has been a highly valued member of the SpinePlus Woodford team since early 2013. Before qualifying as an osteopath in 2013 Juan was a highly successful personal trainer and massage therapist. This experience has given Juan an added dimension as an osteopath and he has become popular amongst patients at SpinePlus Woodford for those seeking a “strong-hands” approach. As with all Spine Plus practitioners Juan is qualified in medical acupuncture which he often incorporates into his treatments with great effect. Juan is fluent in Spanish (as well as English).
